Moon Clearing is the practice of purifying your home based on the Moon’s cycle.
As some of you may know, each zodiac sign rules different places and locations. For example, the fun energy of Leo resides in amusement parks and theaters. The same goes for different areas of your home. Aries rules the entryway, Taurus rules the bathroom, and so on.
As the Moon cycles through the twelve zodiac signs, it pours energy into the areas of specialty that each sign represents. This is Lunalogy 101. By clearing these areas at the right time, you can allow the energy of the Universe to naturally flow into the space you created. This is exactly why you’d want to leverage the Moon for purification. For example, Aries rules the entryway, so when the Moon is in Aries, you clear the entryway. This way, you can recharge the power of Aries quite efficiently.
Moon Clearing is a very practical method. All you need to do is clean the area of your home that the sign is in on that day. You have a whole month to go through your entire home. It’s much more sustainable than trying to do it all at once!

Clean the area of your home that corresponds to the daily Moon sign
First, look up the Moon sign of the day. [I post this everyday on my Instagram @keikopowerwish.] Then refer to the table at the end of this article (“Area/Item to Clear for Every Sign”) to find out which areas and/or items in your home correspond to that sign. Tidy up and clean them. Since the Moon stays in each sign for about 2.5 days, you have 3 to 4 potential days to do a clearing for each sign every month, including the days the Moon transitions between two signs.
Start whenever you like
Although it’s generally recommended that you pick a start date based on the Moon’s cycle, when it comes to purification, you can start whenever you like. The sooner you clear out negative energies, the better!
On the days when the Moon is in two signs, choose either one
If the Moon is transitioning between two signs on that particular day, you can do clearing on either of those signs. You can also do both, of course.
You can pick one or two signs to focus on
If you’d like to fortune-boost a particular area of your life or release a certain type of emotion, it’s okay to focus your time and energy on just clearing the corresponding sign(s) each month. For example, if you want to improve your communication skills, focus your clearing efforts on the days when the Moon is in Gemini and Libra.
Don’t worry if you can’t do all of them
You don’t have to do Moon Clearing every day of the month. Simply think of it as adding another layer to your regular cleaning. Never beat yourself up about missing a clearing day! Just try again in a month.
Tip: Become aware of items that raise your vibration
Anything that’s old emits a lower vibration, so unless it’s something that’s near and dear to your heart, get rid of it.
Plastic is made from petroleum and also has a lower vibration. When it’s time to replace items, do your best to choose items made of natural materials to raise the vibration of your home. As for cleaning products, go for environmentally-friendly options such as baking soda or sodium sesquicarbonate that don’t contain surfactants.
